INTRODUCTION
If there are some people who are famous for what they are not it is surely the cine stars. The media presents these actors in various appealing forms and the youngsters’ mistake those illusions for reality. Fan clubs are not uncommon but the mushroom of clubs could be found only in Tamil Nadu and with Tamil people. The Mumbai Tamil slum dwellers, who lead a miserable life do have Cine Fan clubs in their surrounding. This is the height of madness. From black and white to silver screen the phenomenon has developed in a high rate. When MG.Ramachandan died in the hospital three men burnet themselves. When the news reached the foreign countries they could not understand how people could act in such manner. For them it was a ridicules act. He became famous only because of the films. He was called as the people’s actor. In Tamil nadu this so called problem has been in existence since MGR up to Rajinikanth and now Silambarasan. It is a matter of pride to be part of a fans association. This is not an ordinary problem to be tackled. It has its root in the subconscious level and in psychology. The researcher is going to study the extend of their craziness thorough various questions. The research is going to be conducted in the neighborhood of Tirupattur ranging 10 km. Radius. The researcher would be using descriptive method for his study. He intends to follow probability, disproportionate, lottery sampling method. These data would be analyzed using SPSS package. This study is going to be of much use for the service organizations who are in direct contact with the youth. This would also reveal the life stand of the club members themselves. This may even lead them to have a positive change over in their life style.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Role models are needed for motivating us. But having cine stars as role model degenerates self-esteem, self-consciousness and self worth because they only “act”. Tamil Nadu has the highest number of theaters is in India. The city that has got highest no of theaters is Salem (Tamil Nadu). NDTV while studying the Rajanikanth fever says, “The Rajnikanth fever in the state is something that we live with, we work with and simply accept. But for anyone who does not experience it first hand, it remains an unsolvable mystery. How can this man, who is dark, can’t dance, who looks more like a villain than a hero, be a Superstar? That is simply the magic and charisma of Rajnikanth, It is a pathetic sight to see the vibrant youngsters spending all their energy in making their stars films to run many days in theater. Youth become prey to the “Maya” created by the cine stars in the films. Why most of the films carry love themes? It is very evident that the majority of the audience for the film is youngsters. They keep feeding them with “magic love” and magic “heroism”. They forget the reality. This is a situation created where youth find difficult to differentiate shadows from reality. They are ready to burn themselves, drain all their income in making cutouts and posters but never show their face to their family members. So the researcher is eager to study the factors that bind these youngsters in keeping their clubs active, how much they feel for their hero’s, what is the reason for going behind their stars etc.

DEVIANT YOUTH FORCE

Youth is a force. Film stars and the film industry have rightly identified their source of power. Bubbling energy of the young blood is rightly made full use by the film industry. It is a sheer exploitation. Can any one give a positive answer for the question ‘what is the benefit of having Fan clubs?’ Swami Vivekananda rightly understood the power of youngsters and said “Give me 100 youngsters and I will change the world”. The film stars have grabbed by their illusion thousands of youngsters and dampening the future of the youngsters. This study in undertaken to analyse what are the activates carried out by the club, how each fan contributes his might towards better running of the club. How far the members benefit either economically or personally or psychologically is a question mark. It is a pity that members work day in and day out for the film stars special days, but how far the actor recognizes them is a thing to be studied.

MAIN FINDINGS AND SUGGESTIONS

The fifth chapter deals with main findings of the research and suitable suggestions are given to the fan club members to try to organize themselves well and if possible try to adapt some other form of youth club rather than cinema fan clubs. This chapter is considered to be very important one in the research, because main findings and suitable suggestions are given in this chapter.

PERSONAL ட்ட

Æ Nearly two third of the respondents (65.1%) belong to the age category of 15 to 25.
Æ The vast majority (88%) of the respondents are Hindus.
Æ In the study made more than three fourth (86%) of the respondents belong to Scheduled Caste
Æ In the fan clubs 44.2% of the youngsters have just done or completed the primary education
Æ More than three fourth (79.1%) of the respondents earn just Rs.1000 to 1500 per month.
Æ More than half of the clubs (51.2%) have got 20 to 30 members.

FUNCTIONS OF CINE FAN கிளுப்ஸ்

¶ Nearly 55 percentage of the clubs are below two years old.
¶ More than half of the members (55.8%) are little aware or know nothing about the goal of the fan club.
¶ The study shows that over half (51%) of the club members do not have an annual plan.
¶ Nearly one tenth of the respondents do not know whether there is something called as annual plan.
¶ Nearly 34 percentages do not know whether there is something called as written rules and regulations.

INVOLVEMENT /

% The major portion (55.8) attends the fan club meetings irregularly.
% There are as many as 46.5 percentage of the respondents who declare that they joined the club only because of the attraction for the actor.
% In case of conflict more than half of them (51.2%) said that they would enter into dialogue and would politely ask for clarification and amicably solve the problem.
% In the research undertaken majority of them said that they rarely spent money from their pocket.
% Most of the respondents (53.5%) have held some responsible posts in the fan clubs.
% More than half of the parents say that they do not bother about their son who is engaged in club activities.
% In case of option between family work and club work more than half (69.8%) opted to do the family work. The rest 30.2 percentage place their cine star above their family.

BENEFITS OF FAN CLUBS

8 More than half (53.5%) fully agree that their life had been bettered because of the cine fan club.
8 More than half of the respondents (58.1%) feel that their parents and others in the neighbor hood do not bother about these clubs.
8 As part of social work the cine fan club members to open their eyes to see the needy children who are unable to pay their fees. Nearly half of them respondent said that they help poor children for education
8 Majority of the clubs (74.4%) say that they do not have saving habit in the clubs.
8 The problems of the locality is never discussed in the clubs was declared by 51.2% of the respondents.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE STAR AND THE மெம்பெர்ஸ்

F About one third of the respondents say that the club that they have for the actor is unknown to the actor himself,
F Among many activities carried out by the fan clubs the main attention is given to the birthday of the actor. It is the biggest celebration for 39.5 percentage of the clubs
F It was upsetting to note that 69.8% of the respondents say that their actor had not done anything so far for the club.
F Only 27.9 percent of the respondents say that they know something about the personal life of their hero what still worse is 39.5 percent say that they are not interested about the knowing the personal life of their heros.
F ‘We would not bother even if our hero is or bad was declared by 46% of the respondents.

BONDING
z Over 37 percent say that their relationship among the members of the club is very pleasant and cordial,
z A good portion (46.5%) agree that they do differentiate their fellow members based on caste.
z It was good to hear that more than half the respondents (67.4%) enter into dialogue in case of conflict and confusion with in the group.
z Invariably more than half of the respondents (55.8%) preferred to work with the same group even later.

Every problem has solutions, thus the suggestions given by the researcher are as follows.
@ The root of all evils is illiteracy. Most of the cine club members are not properly educated. Special attention should be paid to improving the literacy of the youth. The village leaders and family member must make education compulsory. If money is the problem for not studying or dropping out then funds must be made available by the village leaders to pursue their studies.
@ Youngsters should be given social consciousness. They must be educated in the way the films are taken. This should be started at the primary school level.
@ They must be made understand the stunts and the graphics and make-ups and editing that are handled by the cine industry. A demonstration can be arranged in the schools so that the students what magics can be done with the computers.
@ They should be taught the realities of life. They must be able to distinguish reality and illusion. Effective seminars should be taken at high school level with resource personnel.
@ Good role models should be presented to them. Lives of people who have achieved should be shown to them or they should be made to read their lives.
@ They must get to know the personal life the cine stars. The clubs should request for personal audience with the actor. This would reduce half of the problem.
@ The fan clubs are poorly organized. There should be a dynamic leader who can initiate lots of life into the members. The village leaders can play a role in appointing the leader. He should be a well educated person.
@ With the leader they can sit together and discuss the yearly plan.
@ They should have periodical meetings.
@ Self employment programs could be initiated to them.
@ NGOs must enter into these cine fan clubs and convert these clubs into a forum of change. They can be with them when they have meetings.
@ Savings and credit mobility should be initiated among these club members.
@ Lots of personality development programs can be organized by the NGOs..
@ The fan clubs should be turned into youth clubs which takes active part in the happenings of the village.
@ They should be guided to discuss the local problems of the village and it should become an agent of transformation. During festivals and other occasions of the village they should be given responsibilities.
@ Parents should guide their sons in molding the behaviors of their children.
@ Have more contact with the actor and make him to support you in as many ways as possible like getting play materials, employment, getting chance to act, credit facility for starting income generation program, economic benefit to develop the village etc.
@ Development of the group should make the actor to turn to all that you do. Send him your yearly plans, your achievements etc.
@ Change the name of the club from cinema fan club to cinema welfare/service club.
@ Have some common fund, all can contribute weekly when they hold meeting.
@ Should support the education of their village children who are poor.
@ Can also start a scholarship for children.
@ Have periodical meetings and call for experts to give some motivational talks.
@ Get tie-ups with the local panchayat, village leaders, and self-help groups and other forms of institutions.
@ Have periodical review of the works planned and carried out, this will make one to see how far we have reached and how far we need to go.
@ Work in such a way that the club becomes a model group where everyone wants to send their sons to be a member.

CHAPTER VI
SUMMERY AND CONCLUSION

Every one wants to remain young. Ladies get offended when they are called as ‘Madam’ but they feel elated when they are addressed as ‘Miss’. When as aged man tries running and then slips and falls, the comment would be “you think that you are still in 16?” Sportive actions are always referred to youth hood. It is the time when one thinks of changing the whole world. The vision is wide. It is the age that imagines of the so-called impossible and tries to make it possible. It is precisely this power that pulls the youngsters to magic screens on which a hero single handedly manages numerous threats, able to mesmerize beautiful girls and achieve all that he wants. It is basically a vacume that is being that is filled.
Today numerous youngsters are addicted to the persons that they see on the screen. It captivated them so much that they do not even want to know the truth behind those screens. Youngster as they are cannot but live in groups. Thus cinema becomes an agent that brings like-minded together. Unfortunately this gathering of youth become highly unorganized. They act on their impulse thus defying their youth hood. Under this background the researchers eyes turned to this topic. The title under study is “Youth and Cinema Fan Clubs”

The researcher used descriptive design, and the sampling method is disproportionate simple random sampling. The sample size is 43 respondents. The questionnaire method was prepared as the tool for the collection of data. The specific abjective of the research are to study the functioning of fan clubs, to know and access the involvement and satisfaction of each member of the club, to explore the benefits of the clubs to each member as an individual, to study the depth of relationship that exists between the cine star and the members of the club and to study the bonding that is present between all the members of the club.
The researcher basing on these specific objectives prepared the questionnaire. The researcher collected the data in ten centers in Salem. After collecting the data he analyzed it in the SPSS in the form of Tables, figures and cross tabulations. The researcher came out with relevant findings. More than three fourth (79.1%) of the respondents earn just Rs.1000 to 1500 per month. More than half of the members (55.8%) are little aware or know nothing about the goal of the fan club. In case of option between family work and club work 30.2% said that they would neglect the family for the fan club. A poor mans son?
He is so much into what his father is that he cannot imitate him. He is into his father’s hard labor, which has hardly anything fancy to imitate. There is nothing new that he can visualize in that field. But his mind is such a powerful element that he cannot keep it idle. He has to fill it with some thing exiting. There comes to his doorsteps cinema. There is so much excitement; so much to fill his fantasy, what he is unable to do is done by a single man in the screen. Technology has grown so much that they are able to visualize the impossible as possible.
The research shows that the fan clubs are highly disorganized. They are moved by feelings than by reasons. There is no system in their organization. Youngsters are filled with power that they do not know how to use them effectively to better their lives. What they know is only to make big fuss for the actors birthday and release of films. Energy of youngsters is potential. They think that what they do is right. As they have no one to guide their energy they just follow conventional method that is start a cinema actors fan club. Basically what is lacking is motivation. The researcher has given no of ways how these cinema fan clubs can be bettered. The basis of all evil is illiteracy. It is the uneducated youth who are the preys to these clubs. They do not have role models. Here is where the role of social workers and NGO’s can play a massive role. They are the unrealized power. All that they need is a good role model and a good guide.

Rosary is a powerful prayer. i was personally enriched after hearing the witness of Br.Zacharias. He is the living witness at Divine Retreat Center. How far is it effective? Do not Rationalize much, just use it. This DVD allows one to play it on the screen and pray with it. Though not market ted yet people have made copies and found it very useful. Their encouragement forces me to visualise one more mystery. After making one more i hope to give it out to the shops.

I WILL PRAISE THE LORD is the first marketed product of mine. I used 12 songs which had already come out in audio format and made visuals for all of them. This work of mine had big welcome among the catholics. I did not intend to bring out a VCD of this format. When ever i was asked to conduct some prayer services i used to make a song. Gathering all of them we get this VCD.
The 12th song is actually from a film but the lyrics brings out beautifully the value of our life. There were many admirers for this song. When i was doing MSW i used to go to WORTH TRUST for my field work. At the end of my Field work to submit a report in Video format i made this song. I never thought this would have such an impact. This is used in many of the motivational seminars.
